The Village of Woodridge and Community High School District 99 have been engaged in litigation over the fate of a 45-acre parcel in Woodridge. This case has come at considerable expense to the taxpayers of both District 99 and Woodridge. Given the financial stakes, it is imperative that accurate information about this case be shared with the taxpayers who are footing the bill.
The District has decided to appeal the jury verdict of $14,200,000. District 99’s Spring 2008 Newsletter stated that the highest appraisal for the property valued at $21,500,000 was excluded from evidence. This statement is SIMPLY NOT TRUE as the $21,500,000 appraisal was entered as evidence and was considered by the jury.
The Village wishes to ensure that the public has accurate information.
